This is from back when I was a part of TLB. I like to think I’ve gotten much better at RPing since then, though.

The fae felt a sudden warmth overtake her as she heard Dino's little confession. So he'd missed her too. Of course this shouldn't have been a surprise - they were mates after all - but after such a time of doubt, it was a relief to know that her silly fears had been just that. Nothing to worry about. And though she would never wish upon him any pain, emotional or physical, she was somewhat glad to hear that he had endured a feeling of emptiness during their seperation as well.

Neither of them could stand being apart from each other for as long as it had been. Now that she thought about it, she didn't suppose either of them had really meant for it to be so long. But my, how time flies...

"Yes," she whispered, "As a king and queen should be..."

Then the sudden change in topic. Taiza for a name? The coyote's eyes softened and Kaiza sent her love a warm smile.

"I think that's a wonderful name. I've been thinkin' of names though too... I think we should name one of our pups Kalypso. After..." A quick look around the alley served as an obvious gesture towards her meaning, but she completed the statement anyway. "After the place we first met."

Because she didn't want to push the subject any further, in case Dino had other ideas for naming the pups, she had been thinking of a few others as well. Just a few more, one for a boy and one for a girl. Ezekiel and Trooper... She mulled them over once more as she waited fro Dino's response. Yes, she still liked those ones. Ezekiel had a nice ring to it and Trooper... for some reason, it just seemed like an adorable name for a little girl.

Shad is an ambitious boy. His greatest desire currently is to become the Lieutenant of the Evaristus, or maybe even become an alpha if the position ever presented itself (he in no way means for this to be misconstrued as him plotting something – simply if the opportunity was there, he’d go for it). He can be positively ruthless when it comes to his goals; if he has been set on a mission for the pack, or even if he just wants something, it’d be best to stay out of his way. He isn’t the biggest or meanest dog around, but he is certainly not a pushover in a fight, and he knows when to throw his weight around; if he doesn’t think he can take a dog in a fair fight head on, likelihood is he’ll think of a way to turn the tables and come back again. He's not above using dirty methods if it gets the job done. He’s a grudge holder, and if he thinks you’ve wronged him, you can probably bet that he’ll think of a way to get you back in the future.

However, despite all the terrible traits, Shad isn’t some horrendous, cut-throat criminal most of the time. Yes, it’s true that he can eat dogs up and spit them out with no second thoughts if they get in his way, but most of the time he really doesn’t like to be the bad guy. Every now and then he enjoys having company or cracking jokes with friends, and he’s usually pretty good (if not somewhat awkward) when asked to babysit someone’s pups for a bit. He can be a surprisingly nice guy given the chance - so long as you don't appear to be a threat, of course. Either way, unless you're very close to Shad, it's best to never let your guard down. If he doesn't outright say that he likes you or trusts you, even if he acts like it, he probably doesn't. And that still puts you in a position to possibly be a threat to his coveted position, or worse, a threat to the pack itself; both things that he simply will not tolerate.

While there are things he takes very seriously, such as offenses against the pack and himself, if you get past his paranoid side and gain his trust, you'll find he can be very good humored. He can be much like a pup in an adult dog's body at times. His mischievous antics are akin to a pups, he will sometimes try to play fight with you as a pup would, and so help him, if there's a body of water to be frolicked in, expect him to be the first one there (and possibly whining for you to join him). However, this part of him only makes an appearance when there are not more pressing matters weighing on his mind. When you're trying to work your way up to be the Lieutenant of a pack, 'playtime' is always placed in the backseat.
