This place smelled... Horrible... Well, that would probably be due to the humans who were strong enough to stay alive and the humans who were already dead. The scent of rotting flesh mixed with the usual human smell wasn't something he particularly enjoyed. In fact, it almost made him gag. He had to stay strong, though, for his stomach was more obedient than some would think. It wasn't like the nausea went away. It just... Didn't force him to expel whatever he had eaten previously.
The hybrid-looking wolf wrinkled his nose, letting out a heavy huff of air as if it would clear the smell. Why did decay have to smell so bad? Sebastian narrowed his eyes at the pitiful display of a pair of humans try to go on with their normal lives, yet they utterly failed at it. Why try to act normal when there weren't enough humans go continue on with your previous life? At least the canines didn't have the same problem as the humans. Well, there was those few canines that were showing the signs of the infection... The Maned Wolf shook his head, clearing his scrambled thoughts. He needed to be more alert while in Salinger. Speaking of which...
Sebastian retracted his head, fully hiding himself from the humans' view from behind one of the many houses in the neighborhood. Why did he hide himself? Let's just say his instincts got the best of him when he was anywhere near humans, even if they were children. Hm... Maybe he should focus on finding a way out of here... Other than the smell of humans, he also found the mingling scents of many other canines. A pack? Probably... He wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. There were three large packs he had heard about.

A sigh escaped from the brute's lips the next time he dared to peek out from behind the house. The humans had retreated back to their dwellings. Perfect. Now, he could move around without fear. Well, maybe not without fear. There was still the matter on what exactly he had stumbled upon. A pack? Most likely. A gang? No, the gang lands were farther from this point. A random gathering place for dogs? He doubted it... The Maned Wolf shook his multi-colored pelt, trying to shake out his scrambled thoughts. It failed.
Rounded ears swiveled back and forth before perking. A voice? Or just his imagination? No, that was definitely a voice. Male, younger than he, and a dog. His head snapped over in the direction of the voice, dark eyes locking on the smaller canine. A mix. With other scents clinging to his pelt? From what he could tell at this distance, yes, there were other scents clinging to the younger canine's pelt. "No r'son." A simple two worded sentence. Just how he liked them. Heck, there was even an accent! Well, not really, it just seemed more like a Swedish accent when he grunts out replies. Ah, the life of a Sebastian~! Ahem... "No..." So it was a pack! That answered one of his many questions. But, which pack?
