Cyanide's paws lightly touched the deck of the barge. his ears were pricked upright, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. his ice blue eyes were locked a head, scanning for any signs of movement. The husky trotted along the deck easily.
the barge was partially rusting and bits of paint were chipped away revealing the skin beneath. his nose detected mold, decay and other things on there.
his banner waved behind him merrily.
He stopped at the bow and looked over the water, which was gently bobbing against the bottom of the barge, lapping against the side.
The sky was a battleship grey. a few snow flurries began falling, sticking to his coat. The deck was ice cold and was burning his pads slightly. on occasion he shifted a bit so it wouldn't get to cold on the bottom of his paws. he liked the cold. it was better than the heat, which he didn't do so well in.
his lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out and resting over his bottom two canines as he panted. each time he exhaled a small puff of steam rose up from his mouth and nostrils. he wondered if anyone else was out here today

Her paws pounded against the ground in an ever quickening rhythm. As the first flakes of snow began to fall she leapt playfully into the air snapping at the cold flakes with joy. She loved these kinds of days, where she could run along the ground at top speed, to feel the bitter wind whip through her fur and bite at her skin. Her tail flung from her left to her right and back again and she revelled in the excitement of a new morning.
As she turned towards the barge, she was a shape on the deck another dog. He seemed to be enjoying the cold too, perhaps he felt like playing. She ran towards him, her strong, muscular legs carrying her effortlessly over the ground and onto the deck, but she didn’t stop. She kept running, leaping off the barge and into the icy depths below, her heart pounded harder in pure thrill as the water wrapped itself around her body. Coldness closed in and she was reminded of the stories she had been told as a pup, stories of huskies working in the snowy mountains, walking through snow as high as she was, this was as close as she would probably ever get and she loved it.
Soon she realised it was probably time to get out of the water; she climbed up onto the shore and shook herself vigorously. Once she had the thick of the water all over the shore line and out of her fur she slowly trotted up to the stranger. Her fur now clung tightly to her form, making her look smaller and younger than her three years should look. “That was amazing” she yapped excitedly to the stranger. She stood now in front of him, dripping with salty water, her rich blue eyes contrasting to her now cleaner coat like two lonely stars in the sky.

Cyanide raised a furry eyebrow at the female but couldn't help but smile. He shook his head.
"I see you're clearly enjoying yourself huh?" he asked her grinning broadly. "I am called Cyanide. What might your name be?"
He implied slowly planting his rump on the ground, forelegs keeping his upper body erect. He regarded her closely. Both ears were turned toward her to show respect. His blue eyes were locked on her own.
She looked like a australian shepherd or something. He cocked his head to one side.
"Are you in the Lino's pack by any chance?" he implied.
Naturally that would probably be the only reason why she would be here, but sometimes tresspassers tended to walk along the pack lands simply asking for trouble. A cold breeze ruffled his fur as he sat there patiently. His tail wrapped around his back legs, twitching on occasion.
His lower jaw dropped as his tongue lolled out the corner of his maw and flapped slightly in the cold breeze.
His black nose twitched as he took in her scent. She clearly hadn't been around another dog yet so it was quite interesting

Alba couldn’t help but smile when he grinned. She nodded quickly. “Brilliant fun!” she exclaimed as her tail wagged furiously. She observed him closely, he was much like her, a beautiful husky build and a lovely thick coat.
As he sat she allowed her tongue to hang from her lips as she began to sweat, the damp hair now warming to her body temperature to create a blanket of warmth under her coat. Her tail thumped against the deck as she looked more closely at him, she couldn’t guess at his age but sensed he was older than her by his manner, he seemed more mature, wise, and graceful. She knew her puppyish behaviour was immature and she knew that she needed to grow up but when she was alone her puppy playfulness came out in bounds. She tried to collect herself, to appear more mature.
Listening as he spoke to her she slowly nodded, trying to give the appearance of calmness. “Yes, I am the new Caretaker” she explained with pride. “What is your place in the pack?” she enquired thinking he probably held a higher rank, as a head hunter or something similar. He had an aura about him that told her he should be listened to and respected.
